Having worked inside farm system club houses with stat and data collection for 5 years I agree with everything said, except that I think a distinction should be made that spin rate can be increased for YOUNG players up to a point by simple mechanical fixes, ie. Finger positioning and hand motion. But yes, once you have achieved a certain ceiling on your pitches, from there it’s only foreign substances that increase it.
